2025 Pumas and Wildlife of Patagonia
Torres del Paine National Park, Chile.
October 21-29, 2025 - 1 SPOT AVAILABLE
Join me in Patagonia Chile as we trek to photograph FREE & WILD Pumas in their natural habitat in the Torres del Paine National Park area. Turquoise waters, glaciers, and towering granite horns will be the setting to our Puma Adventure. Torres del Paine NP in Southern Chilean Patagonia is considered one of the eight wonders of the world and its a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Jaw dropping landscapes will surround us as we hike in private lands adjacent to the park in search for wild pumas to photograph. The rolling hills that surround the mountain range is home to a large and healthy population of pumas. Years of conservation, anti-hunting, plus large numbers of their favorite prey, Guanacos, makes this area the only place on the planet to successfully see and photograph these majestic wild cats.
We will trek for 5 days searching for Pumas to photograph. We will also photograph the amazing landscapes of this region in early morning and late afternoon light. Apart from Pumas we will also target the other wildlife that calls this area home. Patagonian Grey Foxes, Guanacos, Condors, Southern Crested Caracara, Black Necked Swans, Chilean Flamingos, plus a wide array of birds will also be targeted during our tour. Our main target is pumas but we will have ample of time to capture other wildlife.
At the beginning of the tour we will take a boat ride to visit Magdalena Island located in the Strait of Magellan. Here we will spend one hour in a colony of Magellanic Penguins. These protected penguins make Magadalena Island their home as they build their cave nests in preparation for laying eggs and raising their young before heading back out to sea. It’s a great experience and we will photograph these magnificent birds at close range but always keeping the required distance to not disturb the penguin colony.
